Marketing Intern

Position Overview

 

As a Marketing Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our team by preparing and coordinating the design of Google Slide presentations, PDFs, and eBooks. This includes creating new decks, updating existing materials with the latest data and client logos, and ensuring all content aligns with our brand and messaging. This also includes content writing to produce a variety of content pieces for publication, including case studies and blogs. Additionally, you will assist in event coordination – researching opportunities, managing speaking submissions, organizing internal kick-off calls, and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on responsibilities and deadlines. Your ability to manage details, maintain consistency, and support impactful storytelling will be essential in this dynamic role.

You will gain valuable experience understanding nonprofit markets, audiences, and personas, create client-facing collateral, and collaborate with other internal teams across Vera Solutions. You will have the opportunity to engage in, and contribute to, internal learning sessions that are designed to develop professional and organizational skills.

This is a 3-month internship with the potential for an extension to a part-time internship for up to 1 year.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create and update marketing materials (Google Slides, PDFs, eBooks)
  • Design and maintain presentations with up-to-date data, client logos, and brand-aligned visuals
  • Ensure consistency across all decks, adhering to brand and messaging guidelines
  • Coordinate, research, write, and edit content for a variety of stakeholders and mediums (longform and shortform content, i.e. articles, ebooks, landing pages, case studies, and social media posts)
  • Support event coordination, including researching opportunities and managing speaking submissions
  • Organize and facilitate internal calls, including kick-off, ongoing planning and dry runs to align stakeholders on responsibilities and deadlines
  • Raise awareness of events through internal communication and promotional efforts
  • Collaborate with the presenters to enhance storytelling, and preparing an impactful presentation
  • Support the organization with ad hoc marketing requests as and when required

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree or working towards one, ideally in marketing, communications, or a social sector field
  • Previous intern experience in the nonprofit sector, technology, or B2B space
  • Strong design and presentation skills – Proficiency in Google Slides; ability to create visually compelling and brand-aligned presentations
  • Meticulous attention to detail – Ensuring accuracy in data, client logos, and overall consistency across materials
  • Strong organizational skills – Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate various stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and proactive – Takes initiative in improving materials and streamlining processes
  • Communication skills – Clear and professional written and verbal communication for internal coordination and event planning
  • Research and analytical skills – Ability to identify relevant events, speaking opportunities, and industry trends
  • Demonstrated interest in social impact work – Passion for purpose-driven marketing and event initiatives
  • Openness to learning and growing – Willingness to take on feedback and develop skills throughout the internship
  • Collaboration and adaptability – Works effectively with cross-functional teams and adjusts to evolving priorities
Desirable:
  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing and communications
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or other graphic design programs/tools
  • Experience in writing longform and shortform content
  • Experience with digital multimedia tools, including video, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie

  • Content writing – create impactful longform and shortform content dedicated to the social sector leveraging research skills, internal and external client engagements, and critical thinking skills
  • Marketing operations – Gain experience in content management, data accuracy, and brand consistency.
  • Event marketing & coordination – Learn to identify industry events, manage speaking submissions, and support event execution.
  • Technology for Good and nonprofit sector insight – Understand how Salesforce-based solutions support mission-driven organizations.
  • Project management & communication – Develop skills in stakeholder coordination, deadline management, and internal alignment.
  • B2B marketing strategy – Get hands-on experience in marketing strategies for Technology for Good serving the social impact space.

Compensation & Benefits

A modest stipend will be provided to help offset cost of living and commuting expenses (if applicable).

Paid Time Off

PTO days are prorated in accordance with your internship agreement and includes local and company-wide holidays.
