Celebrating Excellence: Vera’s Recognition Awards and Commitment to Pledge 1%

As each year wraps up, we look forward to one of Vera’s significant events – the Recognition Awards. It’s a platform to acknowledge individuals who consistently demonstrate the company’s core values: Impact, Sustainability, Excellence, Teamwork, and Leadership.

By honoring our employees and their contributions, we fulfill our commitment to Pledge 1%, donating to a social impact organization of each recipient’s choice. Let’s celebrate the winners of 2023 below.

Impact Awardee: Tonya Williams – Senior Global Marketing Manager (London)

Impact holds a special place as a value at Vera, as our core mission is to amplify the impact of the social sector through our work. Tonya was a brilliant flagbearer of this value last year. Her peers write, “Tonya has undeniably become a beacon of impact within our organization. Her strategic vision and innovative approach have propelled Vera’s reach and effectiveness to new heights.”

Sustainability Awardee: Carmen Kingwill – Customer Success Manager (Gqeberha)

Sustainability at Vera encompasses not only environmental responsibility but also the long-term sustainability of our projects and the social impact sector. Carmen truly lived this value last year. “Carmen’s commitment to quality is the gold standard, and she operates in a league of exceptional productivity. Every project she touches shines with a meticulous attention to detail and a drive for perfection.”

Excellence Awardee: Rakesh Baravathaya – Senior Consultant (Mumbai)

At Vera, Excellence is the standard by which we operate. For us, it’s about relentlessly pursuing the highest standards in all our endeavors. Rakesh amazingly showcased this value. His teammates describe him as “conscientious, diligent, hard-working, smart, a team player, calm and collected, someone who his team can always rely on to deal with the most difficult situations without compromising on the delivery.”

Teamwork Awardee: Prathmesh Mengane – Lead Salesforce System Architect (Mumbai)

At Vera, we recognize that collaboration and shared knowledge amplify our impact. Prathmesh championed this value to win the teamwork award. His colleagues appreciate the value he brings to the Vera team: “Prathmesh is a leader on the System Admin team, in the Mumbai office, and across the wider Vera-verse. He has made a huge impact at Vera through his diligence and stability, inspiring others around him.”

Leadership Awardee: Srivatsan Ramesh – Global Services Manager (Mumbai)

Always ready with fresh ideas and a can-do attitude, Srivatsan has wonderfully shown how great a leader he has become over the last year. “He’s not just a leader; he’s a role model for what it means to make Vera an awesome place to work. He captains his team with kindness, fostering a collaborative environment that’s as innovative as it is supportive.”

All-Rounder Awardee: Caroline Nathan – Success Lead (Boston)

This final award is for the individual who has displayed brilliance in all 5 values and lived them every single day of the year. Caroline is a remarkable leader on the team, demonstrating excellence in all that she does, while also being kind, warm, and always ready to lend a hand. “Caroline has touched many departments and clients at Vera and the company is enormously better off because of it.”

Congratulations to all the winners of the 2023 Recognition Awards! As part of our commitment to the Pledge 1% initiative, winners were given the opportunity to choose a social impact organization for Vera to donate to on their behalf, amounting to 1% of our global annual profits. Our winners have chosen organizations spanning human rights, zero hunger, quality education, health, indigenous communities, and youth development.
