Position Overview
The Contracts Manager will review, edit, and manage a broad range of contracts. You will be responsible for coordinating the overall contracting process to support Vera’s business objectives and risk management needs. You will also be responsible for overseeing the contract change process, developing strategies for negotiation in alignment with company objectives and lead negotiations for complex contracts. The ideal candidate will be able to drive Vera to be compliant with all FAR standards, including monitoring changes and implementing updates where necessary to maintain compliance. You will be the first point of contact regarding any contract-related inquiries, and you will be responsible for responding to any questions regarding contract obligations and revisions. We’re looking for someone who will be willing to work remotely (within the United States), and on a part-time basis. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, communication, time management skills and strong contract management experience. We want someone who displays collaboration, flexibility, and professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review, edit, and manage a broad range of contracts
- Coordinate the overall contracting process to support Vera’s business objectives and risk management needs
- Oversee the contract change process, develop strategies for negotiation in alignment with company objectives and lead negotiations for complex contracts
- Drive Vera to be compliant with all FAR standards, including monitoring changes and implementing updates where necessary to maintain compliance
- Stay on top of applicable regulations, laws, and proposed legislation, and interpret the potential impact on current and future contracts
- Respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions
- Adhere to all requirements of the contract review and approval process
- Ensure proper recording of all required information in the CRM system (Salesforce.com)
Qualification and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management or a related field
- 5+ years of Contract Management experience
- 2+ years in a Federal contracting environment (experience in U.S. government contracting)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of FAR, FedRAMP, FIPS and other agency requirements in connection with the negotiation of state, local and U.S. Federal government contracts
- Transactional experience with a focus on drafting and negotiating agreements, SaaS technology agreements preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic about expanding knowledge and skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, high-growth environment
- Happy taking initiative and working independently
- Willing to work on a part-time basis
- The right to work in the United States
Desirable
- Master’s degree in legal studies or business administration
- Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) designation through the National Contract Management Association
- Experience working in a SaaS company or other technology consulting company
- In-house law department or law firm experience
