Position Overview

The Operations Associate will join Vera as part of the 2020-21 Fellowship cohort, which allows you a support network to ensure accelerated growth in this role. You will benefit from ongoing learning opportunities, leadership development, and mentorship from leaders within Vera. The Operations Associate will support the COO in all areas of global strategy and operations. You’ll support internal communications, help coordinate leadership team meetings and events, facilitate the development of new policies, programs, and practices within the operations team and across Vera, work hand in hand with the COO on special projects, and research tools and trends across the industry. Your focus will change from week to week and month to month but your time will always be focused on making Vera a stronger company and an even better place to work. As an Operations Associate, you’ll gain valuable experience with Salesforce (the world’s leading cloud-computing platform, currently used by more than 150,000 for-profit and 30,000 non-profit and higher education organizations worldwide). You will gain first-hand experience in the operations of a rapidly growing social enterprise, working closely with leaders of the company to enable it to scale sustainably. As an Operations Associate and a part of the Vera team, you’ll also have the opportunity to engage in, and contribute to, occasional internal learning presentations that are designed to develop professional and organizational skills. You will join a team of passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, all dedicated to improving the way social impact organizations operate. We’re a self-motivated, creative group, and we emphasize collaboration, flexibility, and professionalism. Vera is a young, rapidly growing company; we encourage all team members to push their own boundaries and drive the company in new directions.

Onboarding & Training

In previous years, we have gathered all Fellows for a week of in-person, intensive training to lay a foundational understanding of the company and of basic technical concepts. Due to COVID-19, we have made the decision to proceed with remote onboarding and training this year. You will attend remote training and onboarding as a cohort in mid-August as we all make the best of a hard situation. The training will mix dynamic sessions on the project lifecycle and Salesforce platform, with team-building and professional skills development activities.
