Position Overview
Vera is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring seamless coordination between teams, and maintaining up-to-date statuses across all initiatives. As the Program Associate, you will play a critical role in driving timely deliverables, keeping stakeholders informed, and managing outputs throughout the development /project lifecycle. Additionally, you will also serve as the Scrum Manager, facilitating sprint planning, development cycles, and release management activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project teams, facilitating communication and collaboration between stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or roadblocks, proactively implementing solutions to mitigate issues.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
- Conduct regular status meetings with project teams to review progress, address challenges, and ensure clarity on tasks and priorities.
- Collaborate with Product Owners /Project Owners to define project goals, requirements, and success criteria.
- Work closely with development teams to prioritize tasks, resolve blockers, and ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements including backlog grooming and roadmap planning.
- Serve as the Scrum Manager, leading sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives ensuring teams meet the sprint goals and objectives.
- Manage all agile ceremonies, the release process, coordinating with QA teams, deployment specialists, and stakeholders to ensure smooth product launches including JIRA maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
- Proven experience in Program Management, Project Management or related roles.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including negotiation skills, conflict management and context switching skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software such as Jira, Confluence, Lucid, Miro, Figma, Trello, Notion, etc.
- Knowledge of techniques for filling in the gaps in the Scrum approach on a need basis – e.g.: burndown techniques, multiple retrospective formats, bug triaging, PI planning, etc.
Desirable:
- Agile or Scrum Certification (CSP, PSM).
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
- Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
