Position Overview
Project Managers at Vera play a central role in delivering impactful, tech-driven solutions to social impact organizations. They lead consulting project teams, manage client relationships and ensure high-quality outcomes from the sales handoff through delivery and beyond. Project Managers are responsible for developing and executing clear project plans, managing budgets and timelines and steering the overall strategy for each client engagement.
This is a fast-paced consulting environment where priorities can shift quickly, and managing multiple projects at once is the norm. Project Managers must be highly organized, adaptable and confident in switching between tasks, clients and teams – without losing sight of the bigger picture. We are looking for someone who brings structure to complexity – highly organised, commercially aware, a confident communicator, and genuinely invested in the mission of the organisations we serve.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery: Serve as the designated Project Manager on client projects, taking full ownership of planning and execution. Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, scope and risks – keeping everything up to date and ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
- Protect Vera’s commercial and delivery interests: Understand the commercial parameters of each engagement. Identify and escalate scope, budget and delivery risks early. Recognise opportunities for follow-on work and flag these to the relevant stakeholders. Ensure Vera’s interests – and those of our clients – are protected throughout. Manage resourcing across multiple projects to meet utilization and delivery goals.
- Communicate with professionalism and clarity: Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining trust through clear, confident and proactive communication. Manage difficult conversations with composure and lead stakeholders to productive outcomes. Represent Vera professionally in all interactions – written, verbal and visual – internally and externally.
- Ensure quality and client satisfaction: Oversee the work of project teams to deliver high-quality outputs. Support smooth transitions at key project milestones, from sales handoff through to post-delivery collaboration with Managed Services and Customer Success Managers.
- Lead and coordinate project teams: Coordinate and direct the work of project team members on your engagements – including consultants, solution architects and other specialists. Ensure team members are clear on their responsibilities, have what they need to do their best work, and that workloads are balanced across their projects.
- Facilitate collaboration: Lead internal and external meetings with purpose – including kickoffs, planning sessions, sprint reviews and regular check-ins with Vera teams and client stakeholders. Create meeting structures that drive clarity, decisions and momentum.
- Contribute to growth and learning: Actively contribute to the PM collective – sharing learnings, contributing to PMO initiatives, and helping to build a stronger practice. Stay current with tools, technologies and delivery methodologies that can enhance our work.
